Energy Vault

Energy Vault is the creator of renewable energy storage products that are transforming the world’s approach to utility-scale energy storage for grid resiliency. Applying conventional physics fundamentals of gravity and potential energy, the system combines an innovative crane design that lifts specially designed, massive composite blocks with a proprietary, cloud-based software platform which orchestrates the storage and discharge of electricity. About

The Role

We are seeking a Head of People to shape and head our culture, employee development, talent operations, and workplace. Reporting to the CEO, you bring expertise in organizational design and will provide regular strategic counsel to our leadership team. You will advise and determine the people processes and systems to prioritize. As our startup scales, you will build your team of people generalists and specialists. Ideally, you will be able to work part of the time in our Westlake Village, CA office; we allow the flexibility of work-from-home days.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other members of the senior leadership team on company growth strategy
  • Determine key performance indicators for your department and assume responsibility for them
  • Champion best practice in hiring, onboarding, people management, training, employee engagement, record keeping, and legal compliance
  • Lead diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging initiatives including executive and employee training (e.g., cognitive bias), employee resource groups, and cultural awareness for our global company with stakeholders across several continents
  • Spearhead people programs including goal setting, performance reviews, referrals, professional development, org charts, title and pay structure, internal mobility, and engagement surveys
  • Mitigate legal risk, reviewing and improving practice, processes, and documents such as the Employee Handbook, offer letters, job postings, and other people related contracts
  • Shape a culture of collaboration, innovation, constant improvement, excellence, transparency, open mindedness, humility, integrity, efficiency, joy, compassion, and fulfillment.
  • Help executives understand how transparency builds trust, and advise the situations where confidentiality is crucial
Qualified

Candidate will possess

  • 12-15 years of experience in people roles of progressive responsibility
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of direct reports
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Comfort, proficiency, and attention to detail with quantitative and qualitative data and metrics
  • Experience successfully helping startups scale is a big plus
  • Experience in technical companies with engineers as a core function is also a big plus
  • A passion for our shared vision of carbon neutrality by 2050
