The Role

The Senior Planner will have extensive experience with environmental permitting processes and grid interconnection applications for energy projects. You will work with first the early design team to convey site compliance requirements so these can be incorporated within design; next, you will collaborate with the execution team to ensure compliance during construction; finally, you and the asset team will ensure that compliance activities during long-term operation are communicated and implemented.


you will do

  • Perform a screening-level assessment of likely permitting requirements for candidate project sites. The outcome of this screening should be to rate and rank various sites for likelihood of successful permitting.
  • Determine the likely point of interconnection and prepare and implement the interconnection application.
  • Develop and document strategic permitting plans and be able to monitor and manage these programs to successful completion.
  • Select, coordinate, and manage environmental consultants to successfully implement all required studies.
  • Actively collaborate with all members of the project development team from the project candidate stage through construction and operational compliance.
  • Shape a culture of collaboration, innovation, constant improvement, excellence, transparency, open mindedness, humility, integrity, efficiency, joy, compassion, and fulfillment.

Candidate will possess

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or land use planning.
  • Extensive experience in the energy industry, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Extensive experience in preliminary scoping, permitting strategy development and implementation for power projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in grid interconnection application preparation and processing to successful interconnection.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Extensive experience in public presentations and non-confrontational negotiation.
  • A passion for our shared vision of carbon neutrality by 2050.
